Activities, Farm Animals & Local Tourist Attractions

Abercorran Farm Cottages is located in Llandawke, about 2 miles from the famous Laugharne Castle and the area in which Dylan Thomas lived and worked. In 18 acres of beautiful rolling hills and countyside, our farm is the ideal place for parents to relax. Children can enjoy the animals, play in the park and explore the surrounding area in a safe environment.

We welcome pets too! No worries about leaving pets at home - Bring them along with you! We have a wide variety of birds and animals living on the farm too, including owls, eagles, peacocks, donkeys, goats, monkeys and alpacas. There is plenty to do just a stones throw away in the beautiful town of Laugharne!

We are forever expanding and adapting here at Abercorran Farm Cottages to suit the needs of our guests and the animals that live on the farm. We have a thriving shepherd hut business, called Abercorran Shepherd Huts. All our huts are bespoke and handcrafted on the farm. If you enjoy a spot of fishing we even have a fishing lake. We are looking forward to seeing you soon and making your holiday a fun filled and enjoyable experience.

If you fancy going further afield, there are lots of scenic walks and local tourist attractions to explore. Why not visit Laugharne Castle. The castle dates back to the 12th Century and is considered as being amongst the most substantial castle remains in Wales.

Laugharne is where Dylan Thomas spent the latter years of his life, living and working in the Laugharne Boathouse. We even have Pendine Beach on our doorstep, famous for the land speed record; Or visit the popular Oakwood Theme Park or Folly Farm, only 15 miles away, just 30 minutes in the car!

We have a large variety of owls here on the farm, ranging from Ural Owls, European Eagle Owls, Wood Owls and many many more. Relative to the size of their bodies, owls have incredibly large wings. Their wing span can range between 2ft, to a wopping 6ft wing span. That's wider than the average height of a human being!

We have 5 Alpacas on the farm that love to roam around and do pretty much whatever they want! You'll usually see them strutting around in a pack. They are very friendly animals and very inquisitive. They love to greet our guests when they arrive at Abercorran Farm. They also love being fed carrots and apples!

The farm is also home to some goats who love nothing better than roaming around, accept eating, that is. They love munching on whatever they can find. They can be quite timid at times and have a cheeky streak to them too, which can get them into all sorts of mischief. We are also very pleased to annouce the arrival of two new kids on the block, Bip and Bop!

Our peacocks are another popular attraction living here at the farm. They certainly love to show off their fine tail feathers which can be up to a metre long! They also love to have a good wander around the farm. You may have a peacock greeting you on your decking when you wake up in the morning!

After all that sightseeing and exploring of the farm, why not come back to a luxurious modern cottage and relax in your own hot tub. Soak up the views of the surrounding hills, the spectacular clear blue skies above and star gazing later on into the night!
